    • More Stories. More Voices. More Reasons for Hope.

Eating disorders can affect anyone, and they do not always look the way we expect. For many young people, it can be difficult to recognize what is happening, find the words to talk about it, or know where to turn for support.

RecoverED: The Series is being created to help change that.

Through a collection of short stories, the series will share diverse and hopeful stories from people with lived and living experience of eating disorder recovery, along with perspectives from caregivers, families, and others who support recovery.

Some storytellers will be young people. Others may be adults reflecting on what they wish they had known when they were younger. Together, their stories will show that there is no single face of an eating disorder and no single path to recovery.

The series is intended to help people:

      • Recognize that they are not alone
      • Understand that eating disorders can affect people of every background and body
      • Find language for experiences that may be difficult to explain
      • See that asking for help is a sign of strength
      • Discover that "recovery" is not a destination or single path.  For some it may mean healing and reconnection; for others it may mean rebuilding and creating a life with greater freedom and possibility; and for others it may mean keeping themselves a little bit safer...
      • Each story will focus on hope, connection, identity, support, and what helped... not on numbers, comparisons, or detailed descriptions that could be harmful to viewers.

RecoverED is not about presenting a perfect version of recovery. It is about sharing honest stories, reducing shame, encouraging earlier conversations, and helping young people imagine a future beyond an eating disorder.

More stories can help more people see themselves, and see that support and recovery are possible.
